Championship Betting Review - 13 February 2006

Reading stretched their lead at the top of the Championship to 12 points with a professional victory over struggling Southampton on Friday evening.

The bookmakers were taking no chances and the Royals were a best-priced 4/9 to win their third match in a row and first half goals from Leroy Lita and Kevin Doyle justified that decision. The saints are now winless in six matches and could find themselves dragged into a relegation battle.

Sheffield united dropped more points with a goalless draw at Plymouth Argyle. Following their 4-1 drubbing at Brammall Lane by Watford in midweek, the Blades were 6/5 to win at Home Park but failed to break down the resolute Pilgrims.

Free scoring Watford hit four goals for the third match running with a crushing victory over Coventry City. Punters will have ploughed into the 5/6 available and the Hornets did not disappoint with goals from Ashley Young, Marlon Kings, Darius Henderson and jay DeMerit.

Derby's caretaker manager Terry Westley oversaw his second successive goalless draw at the expense of Leeds united. With just two wins in their last five matches Leeds are seeing their chances of automatic promotion fade.

Preston north End extended their unbeaten run to 24 matches with a thumping 5-1 win against floundering Luton Town. Billy Davies side were 8/11 before kick off and found themselves 2-0 up through Lewis Neal and david Nugent. An own goal from Tyrone Mears halved Prestons lead on 82 minutes but he scored at the right end two minutes later. A stoppage time goal from Claude Davis and a penalty from Chris Sedgewick completed the rout.

Cardiff City boosted their play-off hopes with a convincing victory over Stoke City. A rocket from Kevin Cooper gave the 4/5 Bluebirds the lead after 18 minutes and further goals from veteran defender Neil Cox sealed the points.

Gary Waddock celebrated his first match in charge as QPR caretaker manager with a 1-0 win against struggling Millwall. Marc Nygaards goal after 56 minutes secured a 20/21 win but Millwall are now seven points from safety.

Leicester City recorded their third win under caretaker boss Rob kelly as they edged away further from the relegation zone at the expense of third-from-bottom Brighton & Hove Albion. The Foxes, 9/5 before kick off, found themselves 2-0 ahead through Patrick McCarthy and Iain Hume before midfielder Alexandre Frutos pulled a goal back for Brighton.

Take a Golf Swing Test

You really should take a golf swing test. Without it, you are probably making mistakes on the golf course that you were not aware of and taking unnecessary shots each time you are playing a round of golf.

We take other tests often in our lives to make sure we are up to scratch. A driving test to make sure we are fit to drive on the roads. Tests at school to make sure we are learning everything correctly.

So, if you spend a lot of time trying to perfect your golf swing, then you ought to take a golf swing test too.

not finding out how you are improving (or even getting worse) means that all your hard work at the driving range and money spent on lessons from golf pros will almost certainly be going to waste.

Think about it. What is the single thing that you practice for golf? What is it that you see all other golfers do at the driving range and before they tee off? Thats right - practicing their golf swing.

It is no secret that the golf swing is the single most important aspect of anyones game. It determines how far, how straight, and how consistently you hit the golf ball each time that you are trying to get closer to the green.

Just about every book that you pick up that is about golf will have some instruction about how you should swing your golf club.

Getting your golf swing wrong makes you feel frustrated. It makes you hit higher scores and is a downward spiral into the self doubt that you will never master the game.

So stop making these mistakes and take the test right now. Then at least if you find out that your swing is totally wrong, you will have the knowledge that you need to do something about it.

Find out how you can take the Golf Swing Test here. It only takes 2 minutes and not taking the Golf Swing Test will be costing you precious shots at your game of golf!

Beginner Golf Lessons - Thumbs Up - The Hitchhiker Move!

We all know the drill - go from the hitchhiker position (thumb up) in the backswing, swing through the ball and uncock the wrists, and then continue on to the hitchhiker position (thumb up again) in the follow through. this is a favorite tip from davis love iii.

Here some high school geometry is necessary - BUT - don't worry. No homework here. I will do the math.

The circumference of a circle (your golf swing) is the distance around the outside of a circle. this is defined in the formula - 2pr , where p (pi) is the value 3 (remember, we are keeping it simple) and r is the radius of the circle which we assume to be approximately the length of your arm - 1 meter (or 1 yard if you are in the USA).

this means the total distance around the circle is 2 x 3 (the p in the formula) x 1 meter = 6 meters in total.

So if the radius (your arm) turns through a full circle in only 0.2 seconds, the clubhead speed is 6 meters / 0.2 seconds = 30 meters per second. So far so good.

Now lets put a golf club at the end of your radius (your arm). And lets use the same values as before. The only difference is that the total radius is not only the length of your arm (assumed to be 1 meter) but now the length of the arm plus the length of the golf club, or 2 meters (I am assuming a golf club length of 1 meter and your arm length of 1 meter.) So, 2 x 3 (the p in the formula) x 2 meters = 12 meters in total distance around the circle. And again, we assume a turning time of 0.2 seconds. The clubhead speed is 12 meters / 0.2 seconds = 60 meters per second!!!!

To say this in other words, by starting off with a radius of only 1 meter (hand COCKED) and then EXTENDING the radius out (UNCOCKING the hands), the clubhead speed is DOUBLED without any changing the the timing of your body turn!

In physics, this is called a surface effect. The same rotation speed with generate increased clubhead speeds at increasing lengths of the radius. Yes - for the purists - there are some subtile points I didn't discuss here. There will be a slight slowdown in the rate of turning to the movement of the center of momentum farther away from the center. Nonetheless, learn the general principle - Cock / uncock can double your clubhead speed. For this series of how to swing the golf club lessons, it is important , it is important to understand that the cock / uncock of the hitchhiker move is essential to every good golf swing.

The Purpose Of Yoga - Anger Management Secrets Of Mindfulness

In Yoga, mindfulness is a basic principle for rational thinking. mindfulness is when you are intentionally aware of your surroundings. You are "in the moment," and judgment or intolerance will not distort your view.

many people make excuses for temper tantrums and fits of anger. In some cases, there is a medical reason, and the services of a competent physician, or psychiatrist, should be sought as soon as possible.

However, the vast majority of people do make excuses. here is an example of how people make excuses in regard to anger management. Lets say, you are a dog lover and your dog is your most loyal friend in the world. You come home one day, and your dog ate your favorite suit.

Your particular reaction determines the amount of emotional control you really have. People will forgive their pets, loved ones, and their children for many things, but they will not control their anger out in public. They drive through traffic daily, with the mind set of a battle-hardened war veteran, and an us against them survivalist mentality.

now, if you would have physically beaten your most loyal friend in the world for eating your favorite suit, you really do need professional help right now. This is a simple concept because your suit can be replaced, but a valuable friendship cannot be replaced so easily.

Anger, without control, will destroy friendships, families, and much more. You could even find yourself in prison over one fit of anger. mindfulness teaches us to see the big picture, and the consequences of our actions.

emotional health is addressed in Yoga classes, and a good emotional state exists in harmony, with physical, mental, and spiritual health.
